Mayor, Mayor, Mayor...

As we suspected there were several documents regarding this project after all…

Today, we visited the Village offices and scanned all the documents for the public to review. They are:

  • According to minutes, the plan was actually discussed at the November 20, 2013 Village Planning Board meeting. It is proposed to be 50-60 condominiums. Here are the Planning Board Minutes.
  • As required by NYS Zoning Laws, the Village referred the zone amendment to Oneida County Planning. You can read the Oneida County 239 document here!
  • As required by zoning, the County also prepared a response to the Village’s 239 referral giving their opinion as to the projects impact, if any. You can read the Oneida County 239 document here!
  • As required by zoning, a Short Environmental Assessment form signed by Mayor Ryan on December 9, 2013. Here is the EAF form.
  • A State Environmental Quality Review form was signed on November 22, 2013. That document is available here!
  • Finally, here is an affidavit of mailing notices to those within 500’ of the proposed project, the addresses that received the mailing and the legal notice in the January 20, 2014 Observer Dispatch. Those documents are available here!
Remember, the Public Hearing will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 in Butler Hall starting at 7 p.m.

These documents should have been available in the Village Clerk's office from the start. The Mayor should have told us that they were available instead of only sending two pdf documents and thinking we would go away. When will they ever learn?

The Mayor runs the village board with a iron fist and the trusties only go to the board meetings to rubber stamp what the Mayor wants them to do! and get a night out on their Wives once a month Just try to call one of them on their phone. you can't even get their number.has anyone ever seen the trusties meeting minutes published so that village residents can see what is going on? keep them in the Dark.SOS

Same old players working the same old scams on the sheeple of New Hartford.

Why is this the big new conspiracy? Why the insults towards the mayor or the clerk? Not very professional.

Does it bode well for anyone to have empty hulk type properties just sitting there?

I guess I can't see what the hoopla is all about. Trials and tribulations at the library come to a disappointing halt or something ?

Anonymous #2,

If expecting the Mayor to follow the NYS Zoning Laws is hurling be it.

If letting the average "Joe" in New Hartford have an opportunity to speak in favor or against of the plan is be it.

Obviously, you are one of the "insiders". You almost sound like someone we know who is connected to the library and the village.

Sorry to disrupt your life on such trivial matters as following law, but don't you think there may be a reason for zoning laws? And a reason why the zoning laws require a "PUBLIC" hearing?

That's because no one stands up and voices their concern. The politicians count on everyone remaining silent.

Do some of you hate all politicians? ....Or only the ones that don't march to your talking points.

You'd think there was mad evil geniuses at ever turn looking to thrust dastardly deeds upon us all. One of the nicest villages in Oneida county and of course according to some of these comments above, everyone is on the take, everyone is inept, everyone is pure evil. Please, how sad.

Whitesboro's village was broke. Bridegewater is dissolving. NH has a nice proud little village, and some have their sights set on total destruction simply for destruction's sake, we've heard this swan song before. Its easy being the critic on the sidelines, never responsible for anything good happening. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Quite the contrary, we are not and should not be ashamed. We're sorry if we are upsetting your apple cart; however, there are many people who are tired of the good ol' boys club.

From where we sit, it would appear that you are the only one with hate; for it is you who feel you have to attack us because you don't agree with us.

How can you not agree with asking the village to follow their own codes and the laws of NYS? That's all that was asked of them. They could have just made the documents available and there would have been no story except the posting of the information. Public Information, my friend!

How can you defend the fact that information that should have been readily available to anyone who asked was purposely withheld?

No, we are not ashamed...everyone who thinks that this behavior by elected officials is o.k. should be ashamed.

Is this some kind of subsidized housing? Who the hell would want to live on Campion Road? Any thought to how this will impact the school?

We don't have any further information. We can only make assumptions at this point based on the fact that the Village Point Apt HUD subsidies are close to ending.

There is obviously some reason why the village tried to keep this "under wraps".

Hopefully, the village trustees will make more information available at the Public Hearing on Monday night.
