80 feet is a long way up....

but that is the size of the tower that Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare at 30 Campion Road hopes to get approval for according to the legal notice in yesterday's Observer Dispatch:
LEGAL NOTICE

NOTICE is hereby given that the Village of New Hartford, NY Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 6:30pm at Butler Memorial Hall, 48 Genesee St., New Hartford NY 13413 to review an application submitted by Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare, 30 Campion Road.

They are requesting an area variance to erect an 80’ communication tower behind the Campion Road property to be used for a data communication system. The Village Code allows a 45’ height structure.

The property is in the Manufacturing Zone (M-1).

The application is open for inspection at the Village Office at Butler Hall, Monday through Friday from 8-4. The public is invited to attend or send written comments before or at the hearing.

Respectfully submitted,

Janet M. Durr,

Kinda wondering what the use is for. Is it going to be to eliminate their current use of rented fiber line data links using pole line fiber? Bet they are trying to eliminate those charges. Ok cultural minded Village residents now is the time to speak up. Will they be reselling space on this tower for any other uses such as cell phone?

There already are enough poles on Campion. How long are they going going to continue to look at all the double wooden poles on Campion Rd. Now add a tower? Look all over the Village there are already double poles all over. On my street there has been a pole that should have been removed 50 years ago. Bohling Rd has double poles that now have been there for 3 years. Its certainly is an eyesore. There are probably a couple hundred of these. Look around. Maybe the Village can charge the utilities for double the fees. Where is the codes enforcer. This stuff looks like hell. All this adds to the quality of life that everyone brags about...Hmm I would wonder what Village of Clinton would do?

Let's see - Elis Delia want to erect a cell tower on top of the water tower on Gilbert and Sanger. That effectively got shot down. Now, he wants to erect a "communications" tower on his land in the village. Coincidence? Could it be that he asked FSLH to submit the request so his name wouldn't be on it?

I should add that Elis is currently the chair of the MVWA - who wanted the cell tower on top of the tank. And the chair of the NH Planning Board. Incestuous much?
