Information Session - August 20...

starting at 7 p.m. in the Sammon Room of the library. Please plan to attend to ask questions regarding the recharter vote.

The Observer Dispatch printed an article, New Hartford Library Vote Includes 14 Candidates, please take the time to read each candidate's response to two important questions:
Do you agree with changing to a school district library?
Do you think the significant budget increase is needed?
Thirteen (13) of fourteen (14) candidates spoke of "more of this and more of that" as their reasons to support the $1,000,000 budget.

We ask only one question...when will there be enough to satisfy the needs of a few select people in New Hartford? $1.5 million? 2 million?

Remember, once an annual budget to fund a School District Public Library is approved by voters, funding will remain at the same level until the library board requests a change by placing a new proposition before the voters. That change will never be a lower budget, that we can guarantee!

My guess would be that the library budget increases will be in lockstep with the NHCS increases. Will the library employees request a union representation vote when there is more money available to be spent?
