Going over this budget quickly, I did not see anything for Town Curb Pick-Up.......Medical Benefits still seems high, which means not everyone is paying a portion of their medical benefits.....Is this true??????
Curbside pick-up was eliminated from this budget.As far as we know, the only group that is now paying part of their benefits is the police. That was part of the new contract negotiations.The Parks Dept. and the Highway Dept. contracts have yet to be signed although supposedly the town is asking each of them for contributions to their medical benefits.The non-union employees still receive their medical at no cost. In fact, during the Reed administration, they paid a labor relations specialist a considerable amount of money to update the non-union employee handbook so that the non-union employees receive the same benefits as the union employees. This was all done behind closed doors.
the supervisor seems to have memory issues.......town crier insert( which this website so kindly pointed out) states a savings of $50,000 ea year starting 2012 for the next four years. No so looking @ 2012 budget....seems Town Clerk budget was increased by $50,000. What about "tax collection " hrs? Again Oct 2007 Town Crier insert stated 5 days a week, 7 hours a day,52 weeks a year. So what's up with collection hrs in Town Crier as of Jan 2012 issue ?Really...

Cathy and Ed u do a great job trying to keep this bunch on track. Don't know how you do it. Good luck in this next year, as i dont see things getting any easier. U both r appreciated!!! Do hope the Library Board has enough sense to say the Pledge next meeting!!

Wow 17 paid sick days. 12 Holidays, etc etc. Wonder who did this negotiation. What other company in New Hartford gives 17 paid sick days. Accumulation being paid out at the end. My goodness!! How many days could they accumulate? I would hope that is a typo. It should be how many hours can be accumulated. Days vs hours is quite different. If that is true these negotiators have no clue of end result costs.
