Mr. Wiatr didn't ask for a resolution, nor was one required. These trustees simply do not want to say the pledge. This was not the first time that Mr. Wiatr has suggested that the Pledge should be said before the meeting starts. The first time he asked, one of the members of the Friends of New Hartford Public Library actually got up and left the meeting!
Bottom line...we videotape at each and every meeting...in plain view! The trustees have full control over how they appear to the public...obviously, they don't care how the public feels. All they care about is receiving OUR tax dollars to support their fiefdom!
Strikeslip says it very well in his blog...A Pledge of Allegiance...but not at the New Hartford Town Library!

Red Skelton and John Wayne say it best...
Red Skelton's Pledge of Allegiance
John Wayne and the Pledge of Allegiance
These two are but who whose faith in the Pledge of Allegiance has stayed the test of time...
Watching the library video gives me nausea. Hans "the pledge is a waste of time" Plambeck should have 50 burly laborers yell in his face!
That's right, Mr. Plambeck. You disgust me with such words. You are a disgrace to your position and the town that taxes people to pay your salary.
And the rest of your protective ilk, save 2 of them that actually stood their ground are disgraceful also.
I say the whole lot of them should be ashamed. Resignation would be nice, but these people are going to dance around the Maypole on this one.
And they're too stupid anyway.
Like Gomer Pyle said: SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! There is no high ground on this one!
Disgraceful and reprehensible say I!
Too, too bad the O.D. did not get wind of such behavior and do an article on such unpatrotic people living in the U.S. and does not have time to say the Pledge of Allegence!! As u said "only 31 words".
Mrs. Donovan will do everything to not print what happened on December 14th.
I think someone should report Donna Donovan to her Board of Directors.
just send the story to the AP,NY Post or Daily News. Hmmmm how about a youtube blast!! How about the Town Crier...now that's news..but we will read about the roast beef dinner someplace..
