Councilman Zecca...

apparently took umbrage at a comment made by a member of CCHOG in reference to Utica's Master Plan and the fact that some people [such as Councilman Zecca] don't seem to want to hear opinions that don't mimic their own, particularly when the opinions come from someone deemed by Councilman Zecca to not to be a stakeholder.

Councilman Zecca took the opportunity at the February 23, 2011 Utica Master Plan Committee Meeting to speak out; once again calling us "guests from New Hartford".

We have yet to figure out just what Councilman Zecca's problem is...our videotaping meetings; our commentary on the meetings; or the fact that we started out as a small group from New Hartford.

Got news for you Councilman Zecca, check the Utica Assessment database that we recently provided...bet you will find some names of people from New Hartford on there just as there are names of people from Utica on our assessment database. We are ALL stakeholders and we are ALL in this together...it's your kind of parochial thinking that does nothing to resolve issues in our community.

Here is the portion of the video with Councilman Zecca's remarks and also Concerned Citizens for Honest & Open Government responding to Councilman Zecca's remarks.

Is Councilman Zecca and Tim Trent owners of real property within the City of Utica?

I looked at your assessment roles and could not find where they actually pay real property taxes to the City of Utica.

Sounds to me like these two are nothing more than "carpetbaggers?"

Funny - I searched Mr. Zecca's name in the Utica database and could not find him listed as a Utica property owner.

Strike,

Hmmm...We know that he was previously Mayor of Oriskany Falls. Wonder if he really lives in Utica? Maybe he rents.
