And the beat goes on....
The September 8, 2010 Town Board Meeting was quite long...several topics were discussed to include:
There were many other topics discussed...here's a copy of the agenda listing all the topics that were discussed and below is the video of the meeting.
- Supervisor Tyksinski asked that the board approve his decision to cancel the audit of the Town of New Hartford for 2009. His reasoning was that it is so late in the year and an audit for 2009 has yet to be done...therefore, according to Supervisor Tyksinski, the numbers would be meaningless. Isn't there a town law requiring some kind of an annual audit of the books either by the town board or an outside CPA firm?
- Supervisor Tyksinski announced that there is now a police substation located in Butler Hall.
- Councilman Backman spoke about using taxpayer money to sue town residents and he also read a letter from a town resident in regards to that lawsuit.
We recently read an online news article about a city in Florida that wanted to sue their residents in order to silence their critics... Ended up with the Mayor paying out of his own pocket for the advice of a First Amendment attorney after which the Mayor wrote an apology that was printed in the local newspaper.
- They discussed tax bill corrections that need to be made to include those not paying for fire tax and those not paying for sewer maintenance to name a few of the irregularities in the town database.
There were many other topics discussed...here's a copy of the agenda listing all the topics that were discussed and below is the video of the meeting.
