Town Board Meeting...

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 6 p.m. in Butler Hall...agenda is now online.

At the start of the meeting, there will also be a Public Hearing on the proposed ...Public Nuisance Abatement Law. Anyone in attendance can speak either for or against the law at this hearing.

Did anybody actually read that proposed law?

So, your kid sneaks a few beers with his buds in your cellar and the next thing you know, it's $1000 for the town. Are they nuts?

Law order is fine but don't you think this is a little much, we already have lots of laws on the books about these kinds of behaviour being unlawful.

Landlords have to abate the problem? Try kicking scum out, they have rights and they know them, it takes time, meanwhile a grand a day adds up,

Exactly, the activities listed are already unlawful. Why don't they just put the whole town on Double Secret Probation and be done with it. :-/

Any building, structure or real property used for the purpose of illegal use,
possession or distribution of a controlled substance or marihuana
[marijuana] as defined by the New York State Penal Law.


Strange wording there; isn't mj under the classification of controlled substances? Kind of like saying, 'public consumption of alcohol or beer is a nuisance'.
