After another trip to the Town Clerk's office for other business, we received the April 11, 2007 board minutes.
In comparison to the notes we took on April 11, 2007, the minutes have been amended, although they don't say they have been amended, and they are online now. The Town Clerk apologized saying she was busy and forgot to send them.
I could understand if the town clerk was "busy" and the board minutes were delayed a day or two; however, our FOIL request was dated May 10th.
I don't see anything in the Open Meetings Law that says that Freedom of Information requests may be honored "when the Town Clerk is not busy". By law, the minutes should be available to the public two weeks after the meeting. Two weeks from the April 11th meeting is April 25, 2007, so I don't understand why they weren't available on May 10th, the day we submitted our Freedom of Information request.
